Creative Practice Challenge!

Today is the day! We're officially kicking off the Creative Practice Challenge, and I'm so excited to begin this journey together.

The idea behind this challenge is simple: make time for your creativity, show up for your art practice, and build a habit that lasts.

The Guidelines

I want to keep this challenge simple, approachable, and enjoyable. Here are a few guidelines to help us stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed:

  • Commit to 30 minutes to 1 hour of creative practice. That's it! We want to create a healthy time frame that allows us to focus on our art without risking burnout.

  • Check in with the group. Once you've completed your practice, leave a quick check-in here so we can celebrate showing up together.

You can work in any medium you like. Whether you're painting, drawing, sculpting, writing, experimenting with mixed media, or exploring something completely new, it all counts!

You're also welcome to share what you're working on. This is a space where we can connect, encourage one another, exchange ideas, and ask for feedback whenever we'd like. There's no pressure to share, though. Your creative practice is yours, and showing up is what matters most.

Why Are We Doing This?

The purpose of this challenge goes beyond creating finished artwork. It's about building the foundation of a consistent creative practice.

As artists, it's easy to wait for inspiration or motivation to strike before we begin. But the truth is, we can't always rely on motivation to get us moving. Sometimes, the most important thing we can do for our creativity is simply show up.

This is where discipline comes in.

Think of it as building a muscle. The more consistently we practice, the stronger that muscle becomes. We don't need to create something amazing every day. We don’t even need to feel inspired every day. We just need to make the time and give ourselves permission to create.

Remember, small steps add up. Putting in just 1% each day can lead to incredible growth over time.

Give Yourself Permission to Create

I want this challenge to be a space where we can experiment, make mistakes, try new things, and enjoy the process.

There is no expectation to create a masterpiece every time you sit down. Some days you'll love what you make, and other days you might not. Both are part of the journey.

The goal isn't perfection. The goal is consistency.

Let's encourage one another, celebrate the small wins, and make creativity a regular part of our lives.

Thank you so much for being part of this challenge. I'm excited to see what everyone creates, but even more excited to see what we build together along the way.

Let's show up, make art, and keep creating. One day at a time!
